The 7th IEEE GCC Conference

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Gulf Sections (Qatar, UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman), in collaboration with Qatar Society of Engineers (QSE), is organising the 7th GCC IEEE conference from 17 – 20 November, 2013.
The theme of the conference is “Towards Improving Quality of Life.” This is a symbolic reflection of emerging technologies and rapid changes that are occurring in the Gulf Region and in the world. These innovative changes demonstrate the crucial role and responsibilities of engineers in developing emerging technologies.Such developments are needed to improve the reliability and sustainability of the industrial operation while preserving our natural resources by eliminating environmental residuals in the GCC Region. The Conference is expected to
provide an excellent platform for high-level business networking and discussions in this context.
The Powerwise office will be presenting a paper that describes the challenges and opportunities in electricity demand growth and demand management respectively. A summary of existing initiatives in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is presented along with a broader overview of how the Regulation & Supervision Bureau is supporting energy efficiency and demand side management (DSM programmes in the Emirate.
